Vietnam Day 3 - VinWonders Phú Quốc

15 Sep - Today is theme park day and we visited VinWonders Phú Quốc which is located just next to the resort where we are staying. The theme park has an area of nearly 50 hectares, divided into 6 large areas with 12 themes related to famous fairy tales and legends in the world and interesting civilizations such as Europe, China, Wild West, warrior villages and aquarium castles. To me, the whole setup seems to be a rip off from Universal Studio and Disney theme parks, not sure if they have the copyrights to do so or not.

We came at the right day and time. Weather is hot and sunny (Thank God for the weather) to allow us to fully explore the park. Our entrance ticket came with a 150,000 dong food voucher, so our lunch is more or less settled. Overall, the park is not that fantastic per say but given the price of the ticket, I don't mind visiting it again, The turtle aquarium is a good place to escape the sun and chill, and the night final show at the castle is interesting as they project pictures on a water wall, together with music, fire and water jets.

Vietnam Day 2 - Grand World Phu Quoc & Teddy Bear Museum

14 Sep - We started the day early to catch the 930am shuttle bus to bring us out of the resort to explore Grand World Phu Quoc, which is supposedly a vibrant entertainment and shopping complex located in the heart of Phu Quoc Island. Known as 'The sleepless city,' this destination offers endless activities and impressive architecture inspired by European cities. Perhaps we came during the low season, there isn't much crowd on the street and not many shops are open. Hmmm. Anyway, we got off at Bus Terminal T1 and slowly make our way to the Teddy Bear Museum.

Vietnam Day 1 - Sheraton Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort

13 Sep - Sheraton Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort is by far one of the best resort I had ever stayed. Not only are the staffs extremely friendly to assist with your requests (I think partly was due to we going at their low peak season), the resort had all the things you can look to do as a family with kids. Not only they had a full daily activities program, there are also Spa, beach, pool, Kid's Club and nearby VinWonders and VinSafari to explore! Thank God for enabling this short 1 week holiday trip!

The resort began their hospitality with a complimentary transfer from the Phu Quoc International Airport to the resort. Only catch is that the bus leaves the airport once every hour at specific timing and you need to secure your seats by emailing or calling the hotel. If you wish to go from the airport at your own time, the resort also provide private transfer at a fee. Whole journey will take around 45mins.

Room
We book ourselves a 3 bedroom villa (290 sqm) at a rate of about SGD $300 per night. Just the size of the villa we are getting is worth the money paid. We got a really really big living/dining area, 2 bedroom at Level 1 consisting of 1 King and 2 twins bedding, and a master bedroom at Level 2 consisting of 1 King bed.

Each villa also comes with their own backyard private pool which you can soak in the water at your own convenient time. One benefit for staying in a villa is that you get to call the hotel buggy service to pick you up and go anywhere within the resort premises. This service certainly comes in handy whenever it rains.

Dinner
For dinner, we had our meals at the Wok & Curry, drawn to their Vietnamese dishes on menu. Probably due to low peak season when we were there, the whole restaurant is empty, with the exception of our table and another one that was occupied by a couple.

Buffet Breakfast
The daily breakfast buffet served at the Daily Social can be considered as a highlight of the day. It not only has a huge spread and variety of food, it also has a cocktail section serving Bubbly Bellini and Bloody Mary right off the bat. To top it off, it has a live grilled meat counter and their Vietnamese Coffee are simply superb. On some days, they also served Coconut Coffee or Sea Salt Coffee.

After a hearty breakfast, the usual activity is to walk the ground to burn off some calories and I must say there are many Instagram worthy areas to take photos.
