Virus

Sheesz, I just open a trojan file received from GZ without realising that it is not a jpeg file but a MS-DOS application. But, my Window Vista closes the programme saying it is not running first, and the antivirus which is updated and on at that time did not detect any virus intrusion. Now.. I don't know if my computer has gana a not. Well, just to be safe, just do not receive and open any files from me on MSN, unless I tell you so and can verify that i am online at that point in time. Hmm.. Is my computer infected????

Spring Cleaning

Just finished cleaning my whole mould infested cupboard. I just realised that I have so many stamps that I do not know of in the past. Curiously, I started counting their face value using a catalogue. *Gasp* Better start taking care of the stamps, less their face value start dropping....

Career Fair

The throngs of people, hoping to land on that few positions available. Just how many of them are genuinely jobless? Anyway, I cannot find any company there that suits the discipline I am studying in. I was hoping for NEA, but instead, I found NPBoards. well, looks like school career fair is still the best~

Unknown land

Beneath the dark clouds over our heads,

With uncertain hearts we journey into the unknown.

Over the choppy seas we went and ride,

Setting foot on land hoping to find sunshine again....

The person I most wanted to kill this whole semester

The honour goes to our Dr Bala from the Environmental Science Department for giving us a last minute sabotage on the bidding of modules. NUS has screwed up again!!
.
Anyway, for the tax refund 2007, taxback.com charges a minimum fee of USD$75 (or 10% of the refund amount whichever is higher) and USD$16 of levy fee.

Day 3 @ IA

I never imagined myself to handle one of the company projects so fast on my second day of IA. Initially, I thought at least I will be going to be the understudy of somebody for 1 week to get myself familiar with the company working procedure. I was proved wrong. *lol* I need to start recalling the technical skills from my secondary school days to draw plans to support the roof tiles for the transverse strength test. Never did I know that there are actually so many standards to be met just to use the roof tile! Oh well~ Now I know that there are the British Standards, Australian Standards and the Singapore Standards~ An insight to what Civil Engineering is like~
.
Hmm, today, my boss and the staffs treat me to lunch to welcome me into the company. We went over to the nearby Geylang Hawker Center and ordered some sambal sotong, sambal fish, fried chicken and sambal ikan bilis. Yum, yum~ Looks like I need to work really hard for the days to come~ =)

CPG Lab

Heh heh, today shall mark my first day having an insight into what future environmental engineering jobs will be like. To kick start the day, I have to drag myself up early in the morning at 6am to go down to their HQ at Novena Square. Little did I know that actually CPG Cooperation is such a big company, providing services spanning many disciplinary and leaving their footwork across many Asia countries. I was really amazed by their cooperate portfolio, especially when they mentioned that actually our Changi Airport T1, T2 and T3 was all done by their company!!
.
After the initial briefing on the administrative stuffs, I have to go down to one of the subsidiary which I am attached to for my upcoming industrial Attachment : CPG Laboratories. Coming under the division of Innovation Center, my job scope will be more on research and development of International testing procedures. Whenever I am free, I will be helping out the lab technicians to do the sample testings. It was really an eye opener. Little did I know that actually every paint emulsion, cement waiting to be used have to be tested and certified by labs before they can be used. I am sure I will get to learn quite a lot of stuffs in the upcoming weeks. Simply interesting, can't wait to get my hands on session tomorrow. Oh ya, no formal attire for me!! It will just be T-shirt and jeans or pants!! Yeah~

NUS Cors? Pui! Pui! Pui!

Today is supposed to be round 0 for every NUS student to submit their advance bids for the upcoming semester. So, happily I logged into Cors early this morning hoping to place some advance bids. But.. to my horror... I received this reply from the system: You do not satisfy the pre-requisites for or has read a preclusion module for this module!
.
I tell you.. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH!!!! Our modules have no preclusion or pre-requisites!! The CORS must have messed up again! Well done!! Why do they always not fail to mess up every semester? Last few semester was system crash, resulting in a delay in bidding time. Now this.....I tell you, this is absolutely not an excuse for such a "prestigious" school such as NUS - top 30 university in the world!!
.
This night, I just received another email from my classmate. Thanks bro, for saving all of us. Why? Because all of us don't even know of the existence of the evening module declaration form and we must get our home department approval! What is the IA coordinator doing? Slacking or eating snake is it? So that mean now I have to go to school to get my home department approval, then go and get my company supervisor approval on 7th January, then go back to school again to submit the form, and all these have to be done by 16th January. After that is to wait to see the final outcome. Your place in the module is not even safely confirmed. If they reject..... I don't know what we are going to do already...
.
NUS never fails to disappoint me every single semester......Simply well done!!!
