some random nonsense

17th minute: one strike into a player, another shot KO a player, the 3rd try finally succeed. Moments of joy and shock. Is this possible?
.
49th minute: lapse of concentration pays dearly. One person plays 3 players on side......
.
97th minute: A controversial decision. A standoff for 15 minutes. Unprofessional, No sportsmanship. This is the way it is. This is reality. This is life. Should have just announced a walkover. Waste my time only.
.
A lead into the 2nd leg. Will it last??? Or will the man in black be the center of attraction again? hah~
.
I wonder... who will be in school this Saturday? I wonder...........

.
synopsis
Have you ever pressed "Send" on an email and immediately wished you could get it back? Scotty Thomas (Scott Mechlowicz) and his Berlin-based computer pen pal Mieke (Jessica Boehrs) have been writing each other for years, sharing every detail of their lives. When Mieke makes a cyber pass at Scotty, he completely freaks out, thinking that this guy he’s known for years is coming on to him…in German no less. Too bad the the one detail Scotty doesn’t seem to know is that, in Germany, Mieke is a girl’s name.By the time Scotty figures out that Mieke is a girl, and a hot one at that, Mieke has cut off her email account and all contact with him. Thinking that this might be his one chance at true love—even though he’s never actually met the girl—Scotty and his best friends, Cooper (Jacob Pitts) and the twins Jenny (Michelle Trachtenberg) and Jamie (Travis Wester), embark on a raucous trip across Europe headed for Berlin.Their trek takes them from London to Paris to Amsterdam and Eastern Europe, exposing them—literally—to every lascivious, larcenous and lecherous indulgence Europe has to offer, in a comedy that gives new meaning to the phrase "foreign relations."
.
In general, a movie that is good for a great laugh. Pretty crude at times but well the jokes are nice, too bad its a R-21 movie due to several nude scene. Hmmm.
.

Synopsis

Jagshemash! Sacha Baron Cohen, the star and creator of HBO's "Da Ali G Show," brings his Kazakh journalist character Borat Sagdiyev to the big screen for the first time. Leaving his native Kazakhstan, Borat travels to America to make a documentary. As he zigzags across the nation, Borat meets real people in real situations with hysterical consequences. His backwards behavior generates strong reactions around him, exposing prejudices and hypocrisies in American culture. In some cases, Borat's interview subjects embrace his outrageous views on race and sex by agreeing with him, while others attempt to offer a patriotic lesson in Western values. Wa-wa-wee-wa!Hilarious. Jaw-dropping. Inflammatory. Dangerous. Subversive. Borat, a satirical Kazakh journalist caricature invented and portrayed by Sacha Baron Cohen, has been called all this – and more. Borat became a phenomenon in the U.K. with the comedy series "Da Ali G Show," in which Baron Cohen's outlandish humor and razor-sharp satire on anti-Semitism, misogyny and racism, came to life through his creation's bizarre behavior and interviews.
.
Argzz I don't know how to say this. Extremely crude jokes about the Americans and super anti jews!! If you cannot stomach this kind of jokes, better stay off the movie. Luckily, I am not eating while the movie is on, else I think I will become a merlion!

Some job scope of engineers?

Today I had a relatively interesting tutorial session with the chemical engine lecturer. He got so many funny stories to tell us, which unfortunately, happened to him when he was out in the field as an engineer eons ago. Hmm let me see if I can recap all of them....
.
(We are doing a discussion question about distillation column when he started to tell us stories) [L]
You know, when I first started out as an engineer, I am in charged of looking after a distillation column. Normally, they are build in with 2 pumps and at any one time, only 1 pump will be running. Now, after months of observation, I notice that pump one will last ard 3 months when it will start to get faulty, but pump 2 will normally last much much longer. However, after they fixed pump 1, they will operate pump 1 again and it will get faulty again 3 months later. Stupid isn't it? So I suggest to my senior engineer to get pump 1 replaced since I am quite sure that something is wrong.
.
[Senior engineer]
well, normally a pump will cost ard $10k, which unfortunately is much more than BOTH our salary combined. If replacing the pump really solve the problem, then good, if not, THEN you will have a HUGE problem. Morale of the story? Never solve a problem unless it has become a problem. (Art of slacking at job No 1) Besides, when pumps break down, it gives those mech engineers something to do. It makes everyone happy.
.
[L]
Ohh one more thing good about being a chemical engineer. When you change something in a distillation plant, its effect will only be visible 72 hours later. So in the mean time, if something really goes wrong, you will have 72 hours to start pointing fingers to anyone around you. (Art of siaming responsibility No 1)See so good right? 72 hours grace periods given, unlike those EEE guys, who will normally have only 1 hour (they can only shut down the production plant for a maximum of 1 hour) to find a solution before the top management comes hunting their heads off.
.
Haha, okay enough babbling, off to sleep~

World's Suckiest Timetable

Pan's Labyrinth

This is the first time that I have seen such a high rating for this movie in www.rottentomatoes.com . Imagine, 88/89 critics says its good! I was like.. wow, definitely a movie not to be miss. Met up with two rebels from NUS, who don't know how to follow instructions given and yet expect me to fly there (and don't even pick up my phone when I reached PS), to watch the movie. Overall, I shall say that this movie is watchable. Although it is based on half fantasy, half realtime, the director has mixed the two virtually different components well. The flow is good, the emotions are there, the character development are also there, so... that makes a good movie I guess. Enough of my thoughts, I shall now say something about the movie.
.
Ofelia, the main character, settles down with her mother Carmen, recently remarried with the highly domineering (evil)Vidal, captain in the pro-Franco army. While the little girl struggles to get used to her new life, she discovers nearby the great family house a mysterious labyrinth. Pan, its faithful guardian, a strange magical and demonic creature, will reveal to her that she is none other than the princess who long ago disappeared from an enchanted realm. To discover the truth, Ofelia will have to face three dangerous trials that nothing on earth has prepared her for. Using her wits not to follow every instructions blindly given to her, the first two task was completed. However, while attempting the third task, she died protecting her little brother. That is so SAD la...*sigh*
.
Next week is the only week left that I can slack, and maybe the only week left that my Friday will be a free day. I don't want to stone at home!! Just got home, just wash my hair, and my hair is still yet to be dried.......

reactor design

Quiz date for CN2116
Dear all,
I suggested March 3 as the test date for quiz 1, and some or you have reverted that the date clashes with the test for another course. A good alternative will be Feb 24 but that may eat into your recess. Please let me know by email how many of you are adversely affected by the test on March 3, else I intend to stick with it and only adjust the time to avoid collision with your other test.
Regards,
XXXXX
.
Ok, I think I will really condemn this module already.. So fast talking about quiz?? Spare me please.....

Chalet

Sorry people, been attending the chalet at downtown east for the past 3 days, that is why you cannot find me on MSN or see any new entries on my blog. Ok, I am back safe and sound, busy checking out the modules I have bidded this semester and clearing my tons of email. :( The spam mails nowadays are really getting out of hand.....
.
Basically, the chalet was good, although I have to leave for about a full whole day on the 4th Jan for the Jurong Island Industrial Visit. But well, I am pretty sure I am not missed as you all can self entertained yourselves and I still have my ever enthu Vice around to cover my post. Haha. Thanks for being such a nice programme adviser cum treasurer cum accountant. You are the best!!! Oh, and special thanks for lending me the final few episodes of SLAM DUNK!!!! They rock!!!!!
.
I find the chalet quite good generally as it can still contain 9 people sleeping comfortably on 4 matresses when the night gets late, although there is some complains of people snoring, and maybe sleep talking? Haha~ The only downside is that the aircon leaks from time to time, but the leakage is bearable, not really serious. The Internet connection at the room was good too, with a fast upload and download speed. Bought some tibits at the NTUC Whitesands to last us for 2 nights before proceeding to the check in. The WEST side people, you all very nice to me lor, keep me waiting at the MRT station for 45 minutes huh.......
.
For the two days, it was the standard activities. PS2, bridge, dai dee, movies, archade, chinese chess, mah jiong and nuaing. Celebrated Jolin and Sebestian birthday at the chalet. Averii, how come the candles can go off while singing the birthday songs huh?? *lol* Hope you all enjoy the chalet and have fun before the school starts. I hope I am not a bad organiser as this is the first time on the job. Haha, next time, can sabo other people to be the organiser? :P
.
43 hours of no sleep, which, to me is a new record. NO WONDER I feel Like a walking zombie on the second day. Haha, brain shutting down, slow response, and sometimes being unresponsive. I need to sleep!!!
.
Jurong Island Industrial Visit was ok. We get to see actually how a distillation plant works. Learn quite a lot of new terms and see quite a lot of pipes and machineries. Lets just hope my future job won't be in this sector. Freaking boring la~
.
Self high by singing K. You know what? Jolin can dance!!! 0_0 Haha!!!!!!!!!

Day one of 2007

Welcome to the first day of 2007. Things doesn't look so good. On this very first day, I have been cheated by Cash Converter! On their website, they wrote OPEN DAILY but when I got to the Bedok Cash Converter, they said, sorry we are close on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year Day. Win liao lor, waste my bus fare. Tomorrow I am going to make a trip there again, you better be open, or else......
.
Went to Orchard to hand in my punch card, and off I go again down to Lavendar.
.
Looks like I need to set aside around $100 for a backpack(around 40 litres size)~ I need my pay!!!
.
Went down to Katong to taste the famous Katong Laksa. Yup! The standard is still there. Yeah!!
.
Went down to Suntec to walk walk. See~ You are lucky again. Only THAT place has the stock!! Haha :P
.
Root of all problem? Ok la. Me la. *lol* *faint*
