Sunday Settlers

Thanks to YL for being so enthusiastic to organise this outing! I was indeed quite surprised to see YL organise an outing for the first time, and I must say it was a very good effort by her. Keep it up k~ It was fun to see each other again before school starts. =) The meet-up was at
. Holland Village Settlers, 6pm
and I am introduced to a interesting game called Saboteur.
Quote of the game: 我是好人。。。
You never know who is the bad guy till the very end.
.
Next up was a no brainer game which I forgot what is its name. Basically it is something like heart attack but well, we got bored after a while...
Our final hour was spent playing a tactical game called Dragon Delta
Having real fun trying to outwit each other
Quote of the game: 一到五,全部ban她!!
.
Supper was spent having a sip of nice coffee and kaya butter toast at Ya Kun. Nice food, nice company, a day well spent~

The Dark Knight

Synopsis: A follow-up to "Batman Begins", "The Dark Knight" reunites director Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale, who reprises the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne. Now, Batman raises the stakes in his war on crime. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organisations that plague the city streets. The partnership proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as the Joker. Watched this last Sunday with *mds* and I can only find the time to blog about it until now~ These few days has been a very busy day at my intern lab as clients sent in a record breaking amount of samples to test. Well, more test = more OT = more money = more savings for graduation trip!! =) About this movie, I must say that it is the best action superhero film I have seen this year. Not only it has lots of exciting battle scenes, special mention must be given to the late Heath Ledger, whose acting role in the movie as the psychopath Joker, which I feel, has far surpassed batman. Not only has he showed us how a psychopath acts, every area of how a psychopath thinks and feels, he has carried it out very well. At times, though, I feel the movie is a bit draggy as Joker just refused to get caught or die!! Other than that, this movie has no flaws and I highly recommend it to the top of my must watch movie list.

FUGA Meetup

Last Saturday night was a fulfilling night spent with the Fuga people after GZ came back from his exotic Vietnam-Thailand graduation trip. Thanks for getting me a shirt from Vietnam bro. It was lovely~ =) For more information on his fantasy trip and great experiences, you can take a look at his blog, though he still haven't update most of it yet~ Bali Thai dinner at West mall was so-so, did not get to eat much as I have a late lunch with my *mds* before we head over to the meet-up.
.
After dinner activity was spent drinking at Mary's house, asking each other silly questions. It was fun and I hope that we will continue to have gatherings in the future even though we will be busy with FYPs and other activities. Hope the FUGA spirits will not die out~
.
Special thanks to Gera for driving my *mds* home~ =)

4L BBQ

It has been a long time since we graduated from Anglican High School, but nevertheless, I am glad that the 4L spirits still remains. We still managed to keep in touch with each other and made the effort to meet up once in a while, usually by the annual BBQ session held at boss house attended by the few core members. They are a fun lot, joking and poking fun with each other. Topic discussed have changed over the years and I certainly feel that I am growing old. From the past where we usually worry over studies and claim how the teachers teaching us cannot make it to now wondering over what we should do when we graduates. Well, enough bitching from me, without further ado, the following are the people who attended the BBQ at boss house last Friday:
. 李老师,aka the one in-charge of the food
Boss and the commando in action
Me and Tm, the kakis cooking the food when boss retires to rest and Fabian looking on for some nice food~ =p
李老师 and Gayle

Some candid shots of me which I seriously don't know what Tm is doing~

And most importantly, the camera man - Ah pan, without which, I would not have all these beautiful photos~

Eh boss, December have BBQ???

Red Cliff Part 1

Synopsis: With a budget of US$80million, "Red Cliff" is the most expensive Asian-financed film to date. The movie is based on historical records of "The Chronicles of the Three Kingdom" rather than the novel, "Romance of the Three Kingdom". In the early third century, the land of Wu is invaded by the warlord Cao Cao and his soldiers. The ruler of Wu, Sun Quan (Chang Chen), calls on the rival warlord Liu Bei (You Yong) for help, but their two armies are still badly outnumbered. However, the strategists Zhou Yu (Tony Leung) and Zhuge Liang (Takeshi Kaneshiro) see that Cao Cao's army is unused to battling on the sea. With 200,000 men, Zhou Yu and Zhuge Liang defeat Cao Cao's army at the Yangtze River. [Source: Yahoo! Singapore Movies]
.
Unable to resist the temptation, I set up another movie session with boss on Friday. This movie really live up to its budget spent. The 2 battle scenes was breath-taking and indeed left a deep impression in my mind upon seeing it. I salute the director and the actors for making the fighting so life-like and real. On another note, the portrayal of some of the characters in the movie did not go well with me. Zhuge Liang shouldn't be saying cold words all of a sudden, and he should look more intellgent. Zhang Fei should be more fierce in battles and not look comical when he is fighting. Overall, I find this movie not bad nonetheless. I can't wait for its second installation to release. Maybe partly is due to my liking for war movies~ =p

Happy Bday TL (060708)

Happy Bday TL!!! Haha, must remember to thank Seb and YL for organising the event wo~ It has been such a long time since the whole group went on an outing together, and it has been an extremely hard chance where everybody turns up altogether, though someone came extremely late...(Hmph). Happy to meet up with old friends, chatting along and catching up, as deep down in my heart, I know we will not have the luxury of time to do these things again once we step into the working world. Thus, we must treasure every time that we had together!! =) While waiting for the queue to reach our turn, our old habits led us to do our usuals......
. 自拍!!!YB skills still is as good as ever~
.
Initially, the group decided on Cafe Cartel but since there is another group of 7 people in front of us waiting in the line, we decided to give it a miss and try this MOF. I must say that I did not regret my decision for the last minute switch of restaurant. They really serve good Japanese food. Yummy!!!
.
See the 2 booklets on my left?? Its their menus!! The red one is for the main course while the green one is for the deserts. My humble advice here: Give the Japanese deserts a miss. I am not really used to their term of "deserts".
.

A final group photos before going off

And a beautiful night to end the day

When will we meet again?

Hancock

Synopsis: Will Smith plays an alcoholic superhero named Hancock, somebody that absolutely everybody loves to hate. Hancock's well-intentioned heroics might get the job done and save countless lives but always seem to leave jaw-dropping damage in their wake. One day, he saves the life of PR executive Ray Embrey (Jason Bateman) who helps to rehabilitate him. However, Hancock begins to have an affair with the publicist's wife, Mary (Charlize Theron) instead. [Source: Yahoo! Singapore Movies]

Impromto meet up with boss yesterday to catch this movie at Century Square. Boy, how long has it been since I last set foot in this cinema?? 5 years?? I still find that this cinema has the best seats available. The soft cushion seats that sets you in a relaxing mood to enjoy your show. Ok, enough of side-tracking, now back to the movie. I find that this is just another comedy flick that have absolutely no plot but lots of nonsense scenes and jokes. Though there is a big twist somewhere in the middle of the movie, but if you have some spare cash available on a weekday and seeks somewhere to de-stress, you can give this movie a try.
