Continuing its light-hearted and funny tone, this movie once again brought laughter to the audiences in the cinema as the cast entered the dreaded game once again to explore the unknowns. 14th Year Blog Anniversary

Time flies, this blog is now in its 14th year and still running on. Quite busy lately as we are preparing for the next phase of our life. Thank God for His gift. This year is also a year of new experience, as we started serving in our Church activities and camps, learning more, praying more and hopefully growing closer to God. Work wise, things are going eventfully, even though reporting line changes twice in 2 years. Thank God again for smoothing things straight. Investment wise, still building dividend generating Reits and Business Trust brick by brick. Hopefully in time to come, passive income can be substantial enough to be financially independent. For the next year, continue praying for good health, adequate rest and growth in faith in the Lord.

One week review of SGX Securities Borrowing and Lending Enhancement Phase 2

A week has passed since SGX lowered the lending and borrowing fee for Phase 2. Under the new structure: Lenders will get a fixed 70% of the borrowing fee, which is higher than the old 66.67% (4% lending fee) of the borrowing fee. (My own opinion: Yeah, that is only true for borrowing fee above 5.75%.) Guess what? The starting borrowing fee is 4% and if the equity is a Blue Chip, REIT or Business Trust, the borrowing fee is only 0.5%! Zzzz. So much for getting a higher lending fee....

Well, with the lowered borrowing fee, SGX expect there will be an uptick in borrowing rate. Guess what? There is no one who borrowed new shares from me. For my current shares that are on loan, they have either returned back to me or borrowed  from me at a lower quantity. Looks like this new Phase 2 is not so effective after all.
