Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes

Synopsis: Set in present day San Francisco, James Franco plays a scientist who's working on a cure for Alzheimer's by testing it on apes. The man's experiment with genetic engineering leads to the development of intelligence in apes. Not long after, the start of a war for domination between the human and ape species takes place.[Source: Yahoo! Singapore Movies]

A great movie, nonetheless. Instead of the usual scenario whereby Hollywood brings in their war game team to show the glorified battles between apes and human, the director chooses to focus on human to ape relationship. Heartwarming at times, the movie passes the message that animals are capable of emotions, and we human, as their caretaker, sometimes tend to overlook this part. The ending confirms that a sequel is in the pipeline, but having watched the thriller "Contagion" earlier, it dawned on me that the sequel might perhaps be a mirror of Contagion. A movie worth to spend your money on, especially that the apes are all created by A.I.
