27 May - We made an impromptu decision today to visit 石卡雪山 in the morning as we have a break in the schedule and the 雪山 location is just a 15mins ride away. 石卡雪山, being not as famous as 玉龙雪山, have significantly fewer tourists. Even the cable car that is bringing us up the mountain is more friendly (I felt) compared to 玉龙雪山. For 石卡雪山, the cable car operates in 2 stages: the first stage will bring you up to the mid mountain, where you can take a short break to acclimatize and tour around the site which also houses the 亚纳青波牧场. If you do not have any major discomfort, you can proceed to the second stage which will take around 15mins each way.

After spending 2 hours on top of 石卡雪山, we slowly make our way down and proceed to our next destination: 香格里拉古城. We spent some time soaking in the Tibetan decoration @ 桑珠别院, before taking time to explore around the town.
