Synopsis: "The Kings Speech" tells of the story of the man who is King George VI (Colin Firth), the father of Queen Elizabeth II. After his brother abdicates, George ('Bertie') reluctantly assumes the throne. Plagued by a dreaded stutter and considered unfit to be king, Bertie engages the help of an unorthodox speech therapist named Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush). Through a set of unexpected techniques and as a result of an unlikely friendship, Bertie is able to find his voice and boldly lead the country through war. [Source: Yahoo! Singapore Movies]

In a nutshell, this movie is brilliantly done. No wonder it has received 12 Oscar nominations in the 83rd Academy Awards and won the best picture, best director, best actor and best original screenplay! Throughout the 118 minutes, there was never a time where I find the movie boring or lengthy. The actor's each and every expressions clearly depicts to the audiences King George VI pains and struggle to overcome his stutter defects since young (to the point that he is giving up hope for any forms of cure). His stuttering problem is becoming ever more important when his brother abdicates the throne to him and George suddenly finds that he has to deliver his first war message to the nation  at the start of World War 2. However, the whole movie is not totally dark and gloomy. Through the unorthodox methods used by the speech therapist, the audiences can draw some laughter from them. This is definitely a highly recommended movie to watch.
