Taiwan Day 5 - 日月潭

09-Apr - Another place that is a must visit in 台中 is the scenic Sun Moon Lake (日月潭) which is what today's itinerary is about. Sun Moon Lake is the largest body of water in Taiwan and is home to the Thao tribe, one of Taiwan's aboriginal tribes. The Lake surrounds a tiny island called Lalu, with the east side of the lake resembling a sun while the west side resembling a moon, hence the name. We checked out of our hotel in the morning and make our way to the transport pickup point for our trip down to the lake.

Good bye 台中

After about 90 mins of the bus journey, we reached our destination, quickly checked into our boutique hotel and off we go to explore our surrounding area. In order to fully utilize the remaining time of the day, we decided to explore the lake on a bicycle!

As the sun sets, activity at the lake grinds to a halt. With nothing to entertain us for the night, we went back to our room after dinner to prepare for the day tomorrow.
